Essential Functions

· Assists in supervising health and wellness program activities at the Pittsfield Family Branch of BFYMCA to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives. Coordinates and oversees Wellness Wednesdays.

· Assists in managing the fitness area and ensures that the fitness center is clean, organized, and safe.

· In collaboration with the Branch Director and Human Resource Department recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs staff and volunteers as needed. Assists in reviews and evaluations for welcome center, adult wellness, youth development and aquatics staff performance. Creates schedules,

approves payroll, and plans staff meetings. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.

· Establishes new program activities and expands programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. Coordinates and develops the implementation of Y-Wellness, Livestrong, Silver Sneakers etc.

· Assists in overseeing aquatic operations including but not limited to the following: pool schedule, swim lessons, lifeguard professional development, lifeguarding and CPR/First-Aid classes.

· Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information, may organize and schedule program registrations. May review and process program scholarship applications.

· Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.

· Works with the Branch Director in monitoring programs budget to meet fiscal objectives.

· Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events. Assists with Cause Driven Tours.

· Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and special event.

· Models' relationship building skills in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquires and complaints in a timely manner.

· Works with the Branch Director to ensure membership growth and retention. Uses time in the fitness Center to engage members.

· Complies program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of, and participation in programs.

· Assists in recruitment of volunteers

· Attend all staff meetings and in-service training

· All other duties assigned by management

Equipment and Software

· Various aquatics, sport, and programming equipment.

· Daxko Operations and Accounting for program and membership registrations and budget

· CheckWriters for personal and operational timecard management

· Microsoft Office 365 – Outlook, OneDrive, Excel Teams etc.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent, preferred.

· Two years of related experience preferred.

· Must be at least 21 years old.

· Completion of YMCA program specific certifications.

· Ability to communicate and get along with people of diverse backgrounds is required
